Section 01

Overview

Assilem Cart Drawer helps merchants customize a Shopify cart drawer, publish settings to their storefront, and review operational performance such as cart drawer usage, upsell activity, and related app events.

This policy applies to information processed in connection with the app, its admin interface, its storefront extension, and direct support requests. It does not replace Shopify's own privacy terms or the merchant's obligations to their end customers.

Who this policy is for

Shopify merchants, store staff authorized by the merchant, and anyone contacting us about the app.

What this policy covers

App settings, technical events, authentication/session data, support requests, and infrastructure needed to run the service.

What it does not cover

Third-party apps, Shopify-controlled services, or customer data processed entirely outside the app.

Section 02

Data We Collect

We aim to process only the information required to install, operate, secure, improve, and support the app.

  • Store identification details such as the Shopify shop domain and app installation context.
  • App configuration data saved by the merchant, including cart drawer settings, translation choices, upsell selections, payment badge selections, and similar customization preferences.
  • Operational app metrics and technical events, such as cart drawer opens, upsell interactions, and app-generated order attribution signals where enabled.
  • Authentication, session, and diagnostic information required to keep the embedded app secure and functioning correctly.
  • Support communications you send us, including email messages, screenshots, and store references you voluntarily provide.

We do not intentionally collect more merchant information than is necessary for the app's core functionality. If a merchant includes personal or sensitive information in a free-text field or support email, that information may be processed only to the extent needed to respond to the request.

Section 03

How We Use Data

The information above is used to run the app reliably and to help merchants operate their storefront customizations.

  • To authenticate merchants, maintain sessions, and authorize secure access to the embedded app.
  • To store and publish the cart drawer settings chosen by the merchant.
  • To power operational features such as upsell configuration, payment badge display, and storefront statistics.
  • To debug issues, investigate incidents, prevent abuse, and improve stability or performance.
  • To respond to support, billing, setup, and compliance questions sent to our support channels.

Section 04

Sharing, Subprocessors, and Service Providers

We do not sell merchant data. We may share limited information only when needed to operate or support the service.

This may include infrastructure and service providers used for hosting, database storage, application monitoring, secure email handling, and similar operational needs. These providers are expected to process data only on our behalf and only for the services they perform.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the security, rights, or integrity of the app, merchants, or the Shopify ecosystem.

Section 05

Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for an app of this type.

  • Data transmitted between the app, Shopify, and the merchant browser is intended to be handled over secure HTTPS connections.
  • Access to app infrastructure and stored data is restricted to systems and personnel that need it for operations or support.
  • We keep information only for as long as needed to operate the app, resolve support matters, meet legal obligations, or maintain legitimate business records.

No internet-based service can promise absolute security. If we detect a material issue affecting the app, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and respond.

Section 06

Your Choices and Rights

Merchants can manage much of their information directly from Shopify and from the app itself.

  • Update or remove app settings directly in the app interface.
  • Uninstall the app through Shopify if you no longer wish to use the service.
  • Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of app-related merchant data, subject to applicable legal or contractual limits.

We may ask for information needed to verify that a request comes from the merchant or an authorized representative before acting on it.
